Questions from Nurses about FlexRN Nursing Agency

1. How do I get scheduled for FlexRN nursing agency shifts?

With FlexRN, you have complete control of your schedule and will be booked only for the dates/times you submit for your availability. You will be assigned a dedicated scheduler who will get to know your wants, needs, goals, and, before long, even the sound of your voice! Your scheduler will work with you to maximize your earning power and optimize your nursing agency schedule. In addition, you will be given a toll free number to reach an experienced after hours nurse agency scheduler who can work with you 24/7 on late breaking scheduling issues.

2. How do I get paid for nursing agency work?

FlexRN offers standout pay rates at all our available work locations. Payroll is processed weekly, and payments can be made by check or direct deposit. We also offer a Daily Pay option that puts dollars in your checking account the next business day.

3. What if I have a problem at a work site?

FlexRN will advocate for our nurses. You can contact our Chief Nursing Officer 24/7 in the event of a serious workplace issue. In addition, we have a Joint Commission approved system of incident reporting and documentation available to you.

4. Do you offer stipends for travel nurses?

Yes, we routinely offer stipends to our travel nurses. We are knowledgeable about IRS requirements for stipends; and we will work with you to give you the best package that conforms to these regulations. Contact us to learn more about our travel nursing opportunities.

5. I’m ready for a travel nurse contract. What’s available?

We work with the largest vendor manager groups in the healthcare industry and have a wide variety of travel nurse staffing options for you. We can staff hospitals that cover the continent, literally from Alaska to Florida.

6. Will I get enough shifts through FlexRN’s nurse staffing agency?

FlexRN will strive to maximize your earning power. That starts with a scheduler who knows you, knows the hospitals, and can get the job done. Plus, we have a wide variety of hospital clients. Since nurse staffing needs at most hospitals tend to fluctuate, as the needs at one location decline, we can shift you to another hospital that is peaking. What’s more, we are very familiar with the orientation and compliance requirements for each of the hospitals we staff so we are able to get you compliant, booked, and working without delay. 7. What’s the difference between Per Diem nursing and Contract Nursing?

Per Diem nursing shifts are booked individually, day to day. Contract shifts are part of a multi-week assignment at a single client; usually the client is looking for the nurse to commit to three 12-hour shifts each week for 13 weeks.

Some of our nurses prefer the flexibility that Per Diem nursing offers. With Per Diem nursing, you may work 40 or more hours while retaining complete control over your schedule. This can be especially appealing for those nurses who do not want to work weekends.

Other nurses prefer the stability of contract nursing. With contract nursing your schedule is assigned by the client, based on your preferences detailed in the contract, and normally includes some weekend shifts.

With FlexRN, you can choose Per Diem nursing or contract nursing. View open nursing jobs on our website.

8. What happens on my first agency nursing shift at a new hospital?

Your FlexRN scheduler will provide you with a First Shift packet for each new facility you are scheduled to work. It will include directions, parking, uniform requirements, and the location of the nursing office. Plus, we will have previously arranged a time for your orientation and any password or codes you will need. In many cases, this orientation is scheduled immediately preceding your first shift. Frequently, you will find other FlexRN nurses working on the unit; and they’ll be happy to help you get started.

9. I have a friend who is interested in agency nursing…

Encourage him/her to apply! Over 90% of our nurses are peer referrals and we like it that way. We offer the top referral bonuses in the industry and we are always looking for quality new nurses. Apply for FlexRN agency nursing.
